The idea for this panel came from Professor Lauren Bricker as I was teaching courses the CSE 197 series. We had built a wealth of experience in supporting students within the Allen School Scholars Program, so we reached out to educators from other universities across the nation with the aim of understanding how they support students of similar identities.
We were met with a very generous and positive response, allowing for the formation of this panel at SIGCSE 2026. Through this work, we discussed and condensed our experiences, with the aim to provide a resource for other universities looking to begin similar programs.
