Description
I started writing this paper in the winter of 2024 after taking my first computing ethics, taught by (my current advisor) Professor Katharina Reinecke. This course was pivotal for me, because it was the first time I had truly considered the harms that resulted from the technology I was developing. The course, combined with my work in the Allen School Scholars Program, motivated a shift in my research toward the domain of responsible AI. This was the primary subject tackled within my undergraduate honors thesis: Multimodal Approaches to Fair Image Classification - An Ethical Perspective.
